Ear-nose-throat diseases are ear-nose-throat, and head and neck surgery in developed countries.

The main sub-specialties in this area are as follows:

  5. Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology (children)

Any type of plastic, aesthetic and reconstructive interventions on the face, head and neck includes in the facial plastic surgery. Facial plastic surgery interventions constitutes about 20% of interventions executed at Ear, Nose and Head Departments in the United States that is the most developed country in health care. Just 20% of the questions at exams conducted at the end of professional trainings is related to this subject. The situation in other world countries, in particulura in Europe is formed according to the trend in the United States. American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) in 1964, European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery (EAFPS) in 1977 and Turkish Society of Facial Plastic Surgery (YPCD) in 2005 were established. Though the founders and key members of all three organizations are ear, nose and throat surgeons, at present, there are the physicians referring to other specialties among members. Both ear, nose and throat surgeons and physicians in other specialties take part and share their knowledge and experience in international conferences held every year by these academies.
