Botox

In fact, Botox is a brand; it is the active substance of botulinum toxin. This toxin is obtained from bacteria called Clostridium botulinium. It disturbs the nerve transmission blocking the mediator secreted by nerve endings of botulinum toxin. The disturbance of this transmission either reduces the movement of muscle which is activated by the nerve or causes its complete loss. Botulinum toxin is used under the brands of Botox or Dysport. These medicines supported by the American Pharmaceutical Research Network, FDA, are widely used all over the world. Dynamic lines are formed on the skin of the face after movements such as laughing, irritability, excitement and blinking eyes. As a result of repetition of these facial expressions over the years, lines in the skin become permanent and permanent wrinkles emerge in this region. Wrinkles are mostly seen in laughing lines on the forehead, between the eyebrows, around the eyes and mouth.

Wrinkles can be in different degrees for the habit to use mimicry, the duration of sun exposure, the structure of skin and muscle of the face, age and sex. Wrinkles around the eyes and on the forehead give an aged appearance and lines between eyebrows give a nervous one. Injecting Botox to facial mimic muscles, the movement of these muscles is decreased and the reduction in wrinkles is achieved. The impact of Botox begins 3 days after injection, it reaches the maximum level on the 7th day and this effect continues maximally for 3-4 months. It disappears after 6 months. It can be repeated after the effect of Botox disappears. Its impact is permanent after the continuous use for several times.

The face can be washed and makeup can be done after Botox. One should stand upright with an interval of 4 hours after the injection and it is not recommended to sleep in a reclining position and massage that region on that day and take a shower with hot water.

Botox can be used for the treatment of all regions that are wrinkled and dropped:

• Armpit
• Lip contour

• The edges of the nose
• Forehead muscles and the surrounding area

After the injection: Sun protection cream should be applied and the skin should be protected from hit for 1 day and it shouldnt be rubbed. It is not recommended to work downwards, take a shower with hot water and sleep on stomach for 2 days.

Is the injection painful?
